Rapid Publishing
Keloid Research is committed to the timely communication of high-quality, unbiased research. Our expedited publishing process aims to publish eligible manuscripts within three weeks of submission, subject to satisfactory internal review, completion of publication requirements, and author approval of the final proofs.
This process allows eligible manuscripts to be published while external peer review is ongoing. To qualify, manuscripts must:
- Fall within the journal’s scope and an accepted article category;
- Present original work that has not been published elsewhere, except as an abstract, and is not under consideration by another journal;
- Be clearly written, appropriately organized, and meet the journal’s submission requirements.
We aim to complete the initial internal review and respond to authors within one week of submission. Manuscripts approved for expedited publication then undergo copyediting, typesetting, and author review of the proofs, generally over the following two weeks. These timelines are targets and do not guarantee acceptance or publication.
Articles published before external peer review is complete are clearly labeled “Undergoing Peer Review.” This designation remains until the peer review process has been completed and any required revisions have been addressed.
Subscription Access: Rapid publication does not imply open access. Keloid Research is a subscription-based journal. Article titles and abstracts are freely available, while full-text articles and downloadable PDFs require an active individual or institutional subscription. Visit the Journal Subscription page for available plans.

Peer Review:
Upon release of your manuscript for rapid publication, the peer review process will also be initiated. We encourage you to provide names and contact information for the experts whom you wish to review your manuscript. We also invite our own reviewers. The peer review process will be open, and the summary of the reviewers’ comments will be published along with the manuscript. Once the peer review process is completed, your manuscript will be marked as “Peer Reviewed”. Although we have aimed to shorten the peer review duration, this process has proven to be much slower than expected.
With our new process for rapid publication, we will also invite the readers of your publication to volunteer to review your work. We hope this additional step to help expediting the timeline for peer review.
